If you transferred your site from Site Builder to Ultimate, you may notice that when you edit your image thumbnail settings (changing sizes, running thumbnail generator, and using advanced image settings such as Zoom, Magnify, Magic Thumb, and Image Overlay) aren't working right. This article will explain why, and how to fix this issue.
Image Settings such as sizes, zoom, magnify, etc, require running the thumbnail generator..... however.......
............The Image settings/thumbnail generator depends on 2 things.
- The product image must reside in the /public_html/images/products/ folder and
- The image file name must exactly match the Product ID.

Normally, when you are adding images through the Ultimate Admin, the ultimate admin takes care of this automatically. Now because we imported the Image URL's directly over from Site Builder, neither 1 nor 2 are true. So in order for this to work, you could upload each thumbnail via the uploader in the Ultimate admin. This automatically places the image in the right folder and renames it to match the product ID.
If you are a bit more tech savvy and want to re-upload all your thumbnails at once, there is a bulk thumbnail uploader, but you do have to manually rename all the image file names to match the product ID it goes with. Here is the section of the manual on that:
- Bulk Image Uploading via FTP: http://www.shoppepro.com/manuals/ultimate/bulk_images_using_ftp.htm
- Bulk Image Loader Info: http://www.shoppepro.com/manuals/ultimate/bulk_images_loader.htm
- Thumbnail Generator: http://www.shoppepro.com/manuals/ultimate/thumbnail_generator.htm
Once the image names match the product ID and they're are all in the right folder,
- The thumbnail generator will work, and
- the advanced image settings such as Zoom, Magnify, Magic Thumb, and Image Overlay will work.
