How do I use the Inventory feature?

If you want the system to keep track of inventory levels, follow these steps.

To Enter inventory levels while initially entering a product:
On the first product entry screen, at the very bottom click "Add Options".  Then on the very bottom of that page, click "Add Inventory".  On this page you will see where you will be able to enter the number of products you have available to sell.  If you have Unlimited products and you want this item to be always available, just leave this box blank.  Otherwise, if you have one of a kind, or products you can only sell a limited number of, just enter the number of products you have available to sell.  When those number of products have been sold, the item will be marked "Out of Stock".



Important Note about Inventory Control:  Please keep in mind that since our software utilizes both our catalog software, as well as the Mal's cart (a separate system), inventory is not fool proof.  The system can only prevent the customer from changing the quantity box next to the Order button BEFORE it gets added to the cart.  Once it's in the cart, our system has no control over how many the customer ordrs.  This means that if you have 5 products in stock, and the customer enters "6" and then "Order", the system will show them a message that indicates that only 5 are available to order.  HOWEVER, it is possible that the customer can enter "5", then "Order", and then on the Cart page they WILL be able to change the quantity there to over 6.  The system can only control the amount of items added to the cart BEFORE they are added to the cart.
