How can I resize my pictures and optimize them for the web?

We recommend resizing your images before uploading them to your website.

Recommended Sizes:
Large Images: 500 pixels wide

If you need help resizing your images, and you have a Windows PC, you can use PixResizer. Basically, here is the easiest method to resize all your images for your catalog:
1) Put all your photos in a folder on your computer called "Original images".
2) Then create an empty folder called "Thumbnails".
3) Then create an empty folder called "Large Images".

TO GENERATE YOUR THUMBNAILS:

Download & install the PixResizer.
Open the PixResizer.
Click on the 2nd tab at the top that says "Work with Multiple Files"
Under 1. Select Source, choose the folder "Original Images".
For Destination, choose the folder "Thumbnails".
Under 2. Select Size, and change the bar to "150".
Under 3. Select file format, select "same as original".
Under 4. Save Pictures, click "Save Pictures".
Then the system will generate all your thumbnails 150 pixels wide and will put them all in your "Thumbnails" folder on your computer.

TO GENERATE YOUR LARGE IMAGES (for the product detail pages)

Under 1. Select Source, choose the folder "Original Images".
Under Destination, choose the folder "Large Images".
Under 2. Select size, and change the bar to "500".
Under 3. Select file format, select "same as original".
Under 4. Save Pictures, click "Save Pictures".
Then the system will generate all your large images 500 pixels wide.

Now, when entering your products, where the system asks you to upload 'Thumbnail Img", upload the corresponding photo from your "Thumbnails" folder on your computer. And where it asks you to upload the "Lrg Img", upload the corresponding photo from your "Large Images" folder on your computer.

That's it!
