It's high time I get on over to Facebook and set up an account. It took me forever to figure out myspace (which is now desparately in need of attention). But, I went there and wasn't sure if the best route is to set up a personal page or a business page? And under a business page, it had local and product options? And when it asks for name is this the name that will show to visitors? (since I do want the company name in there).

Can anyone provide me some guidance?

I would like advice on this too! Is it better to not open up a page in the business name? Should I open two separate accounts? Is there a lot of time involved in keeping these up?

HI Ladies
I was able to open an account with my business name but I have heard others could not.
Either way you can open a business page: First you will need to add the application to your FB

I went Product Option (there should be a website option now).

With up keep you can add in your blog URL and that will update your notes.
Also you can add in Twitter and that will up keep your status.

Hello Ladies!

Limelizard now has a presence on Facebook! Can someone please tell me, however, how I have the little section on the left hand side that says 'Fans', and 'Favourite Pages' just like on the Shoppepro and Boutique Mama pages????? Is it just that I don't have any yet??! Although I did add Shoppepro to my page as a favourite.....and it isn't showing....or was setting it up as a business page not the correct way to do this - as I don't seem to be able to invite any of my friends to be fans either.

I don't think they will show up until someone becomes a fan of your page....at least they didn't show up on mine until I had my 1st fan.

As far as sending a link to someone so they can become a fan, I just go on to my page and then I copy the url that is at the top and send it. I am not sure if there is another way...if there is, I would love to know too!

Yes I think that being a business page you can only wait for people to become fans. A friend of mine already had a profile and added a business page on her profile, and then she could invite others to become a fan. I'm not sure I want that much personal information attached to my business file though so I guess I'll just have to wait and hope for people to find me!!

Just tried to become a fan of your businesses, but I can't see on my page how to do that. I can enter favourites which I did for Shoppepro, however they only show up if someone clicks on my 'boxes' tab. Is this normal? As you can see I am a facebook newbie!

I finally got my facebook page up! wahoo! And I believe I can't add fans unless I create a personal page and I feel the same way Naomi does about not putting too much info out there.

Hi All,

Well I'm still trying to figure out the facebook issue - now I've also decided why not stress myself out even further and do Twitter as well!!! :)

Facebook - still struggling with whether or not to convert to a personal profile - has anyone done this and still managed to keep the business presence more than the personal? ???

Twitter - seems to be easy enough. :)

Logos - Does anyone have any idea where to get, and how to put the logo's for each one on our websites? Would love any help with this. Neither facebook or twitter websites seem overly helpful with this subject. ???

I have a personal facebook and also one for each of my 2 businesses. I keep them separate.

Not sure on the logos....I was actually searching facebook today for a 'follow us on facebook' logo that I see other have but didn't have any luck.

For the logos, if you do a google image search for "find us on facebook images" I got back quite a few logos you could use. good luck! :)

Just also letting you know that I finally gave in and set up my personal profile with my business pages attached. Seems to be going well, was able to join other groups etc.

However, twitter seems to be going better for me at the moment, I'm starting to get a few followers on both of my sites. I have put them below for anyone interested. Twitter was really easy to set up and doesn't take much time at all - so far! :)
