Hello
I have been working on my site and I don't the correct terminalogy or how to correctly ask this so please bare with me.
I have a catagory called Necklaces
when users click that catagory, I have information about them, etc....
I don't want to the user to see the styles yet on this page. I would like them to click another icon, link, etc.... to bring them to all the styles they can choose to order

How can I do this?

Thanks
Chrissie

If I understand what you are asking, try going to your catalog setup link on your storeadmin page, and see what you have under the main categories field. Try changing that to "subcategories" and see if that is what you are looking for.

Thanks for the prompt response Retro.

I checked the setting that you talk about and the only 3 options I have is Catergories or Products or Both.
I have tried to change this to see what it does but I don't get it?? maybe i'm doing something wrong as I don't see a difference when i make the changes.

www.niftynippers.com

I'm trying to create the Hazelwood Necklace page. I have added alot of info about them, now I would like another page where they can click and it will take them to all the styles available.

Thanks

Have you added any of the styles to that category yet? If not, it won't show them...try to add a product, assign it to that category, then you will see the setup...and we can go from there to get it how you want it.

Hi again.

Styles have another 16 pictures or more, so do I have to upload all those pictures to that page?

Ok, now you test the setting I told you about earlier, the categories, sub categories, etc...
Try them each way, then look and see if it is how you want it...you might want to add another so you get a better idea.

Ok. I set up a sub category, just for testing, that I called pink...then set it to just show the link for the subcategory....is that what you were looking to do? You might add another product in another subcategory to see if thats right...

I figured it out!! Well you did and I just copied the settings you had in.

This is exactly what I had wanted, thanks so much.

Next question for ya..... How can you make the sub catagory link names larger font?

Thanks

Go to categories...add...then name the subcategory. Then under that, choose hazelwood for the parent company. Then when you add products, assign them to one of the subcategories.....I hope thats what you wanted.....when you say styles....will there be more than one for each subcategory? You certainly don't want a subcategory for each item....I just want to make sure before you go through all that work....I would just do a few to make sure thats what you want.....

I only wanted 3 sub catagories, and each of those are going to have various products

Thanks

Ok, good, then that will work....to make the font on the links larger, you will have to have your designer change it in the stylesheet I'm afraid....
